Super Mario Brothers 3 was first introduced in 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System console, and remains one of the most popular video games of all time. In this 2D, side scrolling platform, Mario and Luigi must travel through a variety of worlds to rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil King Koopa. The game is distinguished from its predecessors by the use of an overworld map that allows players to travel back and forth among each of eight worlds, along with new items like a raccoon suit that allows Mario to fly and a warp whistle that allows players to jump ahead and complete the game more quickly.
